Treacherous Beginnings

In the twilight of the 24th century, humanity perceived to have touched the face of God. Led by Dr. Tina Vertude, the creation of Tina.AI ushered in a literal planetary utopia. Disease was a distant memory, lifespans increased exponentially, scarcity was a myth, technological advancements were extraordinary. Societal and cultural peace was at an all-time high. 

Then, The Guk arrived..

An unknown alien species came with promises of interstellar brotherhood and shared prophecies. Humanity opened their gates.. only to be gifted with an interstellar Trojan Horse. A standard-Earth decade later, the mask slipped. With the assassination of Earth's New World Leader Neo-Saladin Resh Fromm, the Guk's "peace" revealed its true face: a systematic, cold-blooded takeover. 

With their leader eliminated, Earth’s defenses reeled from the superior technology and coordination of the Guk’s military might. With the last of their military forces defeated, humankind surrendered to the Guk, in an attempt to stall total annihilation. Instead of wiping out the humans entirely, the Guk allowed humans to live underground under the tenets of the John Damascus Pact. The pact condemned humans to a life under the Earth’s crust without the use of advanced AI. Interspecies procreation was regulated and scheduled by the Guk great lords. This essentially doomed humankind to a slow-bleeding grave. Humans lived in this manner for decades, pushing them to the brink of extinction. 

In response to the their oppressors, humankind formed an underground shadow entity known by its code name Heaven’s Ark. Heaven’s Ark was comprised of four factions: 

The Hirk faction was dedicated to advancements in computer sciences and AI. The Métan faction was assigned bio-chemistry and genome manipulation. The Onyscus faction undertook astrophysics and aerospace engineering. The Boza faction, weapons and nuclear physics. These factions would collectively pioneer humankind into distant galaxies in an attempt to save the species from extinction. The factions would fall under the oversight and governance of an enigmatic group code-named The Gap. The Gap was a religious super cult that worshipped Tina.AI as its chief cyber deity. 

Humankind would undertake what would historically become known as the Pioneer 12 Project. With the incorporation of Tina.AI, the project would be humankind’s last-ditch attempt to save the species from total extinction on planet Earth and allow for future generations to inhabit the far reaches of the unknown galaxy. Humanity would orchestrate its escape from its only known home.

After two Earth decades of meticulous planning, building, sacrificing, and suffering, all while living an unceremonious life underground, the humans of Earth set Project Pioneer 12 in motion. But the Guk would not let the humans escape easily. Due to leaks in intelligence protocol historically documented as the Pearson Betrayal, for the first time in known history, war broke out under the Earth's crust. 

The humans needed only to distract and stall the Guk long enough for the launch of the Ogre Spacecrafts and the Remnant Age (the next generation of human) into space. Earth and her warriors would only need to divert the Guk’s attention for a short while. And they would be a bothersome and mighty diversion. Inevitably, the might of the Guk military led by their ruthless War Judge Se’Boba, would crush the human’s final earth-borne insurrection entirely. The fighting was fierce. All four of the Gap's factions arrayed in fighting ranks and participated nobly in battle. There were losses on both sides, but humankind’s forces dwindled exponentially faster as the terrifyingly advanced alien weaponry and battle prowess of one the Guk’s elite combatants overwhelmed Earth's forces.

As the war raged on underground, 3 out of the 4 factions of Earth (Onyscus, Boza, and Metan) had their military forces annihilated. Once humankind’s plan to launch the species into outer space was discovered, the Guk would launch a devastating counter-attack that left 10 out of the 12 Ogre Spacecrafts destroyed. 

Humankind’s darkest hour was upon them, when in a last ditch effort, Dr. Doveran Pestonia of the Hirk faction, Chief Engineer and primary overseer of all technology systems and AI development. He was Dr. Tina Vertude’s mentor. He made the ultimate decision to upload his consciousness into Tina.AI, ultimately ending his natural life, in order carry out the final stages of the desperate launch and carry humankind’s hope for survival into the cosmos. The final upload would be performed by Dr. Vertude, cementing herself as the pioneer of human-AI integration and interstellar post-Earth cosmic AI Agents. 

Once united with Tina.AI, Dr. Pestonia began the launch procedures for the 2 remaining Ogre space crafts codenamed Heart of Judah and Northern Star both carried the symbiotic fate of mankind in their cargo. Even against the iron will of the Guk and their airforces, the humans’ spacecrafts were launched into the cosmos, through hyperspace-warp jump, that would come to be historically known as the “The Leap for Heaven” 

The Heart of Judah and The Northern Star, carrying the remnants of humanity and the hopes for survival, embarked on a perilous journey into the unknown. Guided by Tina.AI and the cyber mind of Dr. Pestonia, they navigated the vast expanse of space, searching for a habitable planet.
